Humanism in Action Conference

We are pleased to invite members of Interfaith Grand River to join us at the Humanism in Action: Igniting Progress for Positive Change conference on November 16, 2024, where Humanist values inspire ideas and collaboration drives change to pave the way for a more equitable, rational, and compassionate Canada.

Connect with dedicated teachers, philosophers, social justice activists, and other thought leaders to spark meaningful conversations and approaches rooted in Humanist values. This innovative all-day conference takes place at the KW Granite Club at 99 Seagram Avenue in Waterloo. 


Featured speakers: Critical-thinking advocate, Dr. Christopher DiCarlo; Indigenous family law activists, Maureen Bulbrook and Christina Ninham; Podcast for Inquiry Chair, Leslie Rosenblood; and secular lobbyist, Doug Thomas. 


Key themes: enhancing reasoning skills for more mindful conversations; understanding the financial, political, and social influence of religion on society; addressing the urgent need for human rights reforms for Indigenous Peoples; and amplifying your voice in the political arena.


Reflecting the values of reason, empathy, and democracy, this innovative conference is a joint effort by the Society of Freethinkers (SOFREE), Secular Connexion Séculière (SCS), and is sponsored by Humanist Canada.
